The Amazing
Race Series

Three days. Three courses. Two of Victoria's most iconic landscapes. The driving is only part of it.

A Navigation Challenge
Across A Long Weekend

The Amazing Race is a multi-day navigation event where teams use maps, clues, GPS coordinates, observation and teamwork to find their way across some of Victoria's most remarkable off-road country.

Each morning you receive your course — and each day is a fresh challenge. The driving gets you there. What you find when you arrive is the event.

No two events are the same. No two days are the same. The course is different every year, the questions are different every year, and the experience changes every time you come back.

3 Day Event Public Holiday Weekend Navigation Based Family Friendly Kids Course All Skill Levels GPS Verified Fully Catered

Same Format.
Three Days Running.

Each day follows the same rhythm — morning briefing, course notes, then out into the bush at your own pace. Come back, hand in your notes, do it again tomorrow.

Morning Briefing

Tea, coffee and course notes at the catering tent. The organisers walk through the day, answer questions, and send you on your way.

🗺️

Plot Your Route

Back at camp, study your notes and plot your course. Some teams plan meticulously. Others just drive. The planners usually do better.

🚗

Head Out

Leave when you're ready. No mass start. No convoy. Your team, your pace, your decisions — from the moment you leave camp.

🔍

Navigate & Observe

Find waypoints, answer questions, photograph evidence. The correct route reveals the answers. The wrong route looks like empty bush.

📍

GPS Verified

Every team carries a GPS logger. Your track is recorded — course completion verified, speeds monitored. Every kilometre accounted for.

🏕️

Back To Camp

Hand in your notes and logger. No answer reveal until presentation night. For three days, every team thinks they've nailed it.

Two Events.
Two Completely Different Experiences.

Same format, same three-day structure — but the terrain, the story and the feel are completely different. Many teams do both.

Easter Weekend · Every Year · Goroke, Western Victoria

Amazing Race
Wimmera

📍 Goroke & surrounds · Western Victoria

The original. Running since 2005, the Wimmera is a chain navigation challenge across sandy mallee tracks. Each clue card you find gives you the information to find the next one — with routing constraints that force real map reading decisions. Add in task cards, greedy cards and mystery cards, and every day involves genuine risk and reward choices.

Goldfields

📍 Guildford & surrounds · Central Victoria

Story-driven and immersive. Two fictitious bushrangers — Gravedigger Dan and Gunslinger Gary — commit some historically inaccurate crime each year, and your job is to track them down. Newspaper clippings, lost diary pages nailed to trees, and real gold rush relics guide you through some of the most historically rich bush in Victoria.

🏕️

Base Camp

Caravan-accessible camp at both events. Secluded enough to feel like the bush, close enough to town for anything you need.

You Don't Need
A Beast To Compete.

The Amazing Race is not an extreme off-road event. The challenge is in the navigation, the observation and the decision making — not the vehicle.

Success comes from thinking, not from horsepower. Standard touring 4WDs are common and competitive. Families enter and finish. First timers place well.

  • A capable 4WD with low range and basic recovery gear is all you need
  • No previous navigation event experience required
  • Whole family welcome — kids course runs alongside the main event
  • Some teams compete seriously. Others come for the adventure and the campfire. Both fit right in.
